As we gather for #clmooc and #edu106 we share our field journeys and learning walks. I am going to capture my reflections on learning as I work with students in my class EDU 106: New Literacies: Digital Text and Tools for Life Long Learning. I have documented building a trail in my backyard, learning CSS Grid to build a portfolio page, and my latest endeavor involves learning the Ukulule.
EDU 106
Using this as a launching pad we learn how to build a website with HTML. I hope to model my journey and create a path for other members of the EDU106 community
The instructional design for EDU106 got inspired by a quote that I have always kept close to the heart.
Change yourself and you have done your part in the changing the the world. Every individual must change [their] own life if they want to live in a peaceful world. Paramahansa Yogananda
In EDU106 students complete four modules: Tell your story, learn something, teach something, do something. During th emodules they get intriduced to web design, photography, videography, and podcasting. During the Do Something module students must pick a project to make themselves or the world better. They then choose one of the pathways and dive deep into learning.
